Over the past few years, market expansion has been the predominant theme in the Hungarian IT industry. In an attempt to bolster economic growth, the Hungarian government has launched several initiatives that aim to create a more favourable environment for companies operating in this field. Budapest-based Invigor Informatika Kft. has capitalized on this fact and made it work to its advantage.

Invigor is a major partner of HP, Dell, Oracle and Violin Memory, the leading flash array vendor overall, for whom Invigor is an exclusive partner. The IT specialist has an HP ServiceOne partnership and can provide a wide range of services to HP servers and storages. The operational hardware solutions and support systems offered by Invigor include database systems, back-up software, complex hardware virtualization, operating systems, and high-end server and storage solutions. Among its extensive range of services are hardware consultancy, installation and implementation, as well as Oracle software retailing, performance tuning, and optimization.

Invigor's annual revenues have been exceeding two billion HUF, about 6.5 million EUR since 2012. In 2014, the company's sales are expected to reach the three billion mark, equaling about 9.6 million EUR, as the company has been commissioned to take part in some major projects.

Invigor's full range of services is targeted at large companies that require complex solutions for their hardware and software-related needs, mostly in the public sector, an area where the company’s revenues have grown since last year. Some of Invigor's most notable clients include MOL, Hungary's oil and gas national company; OTP Bank, Hungary's most important financial institution; and the Hungarian Court Administration Office.

Founder Tamás Vadnai, who has been Invigor's managing director since 2009, attributes the firm's rapid success to its ability to achieve a balanced leadership style. “I believe in the people who work for the company, and I like the interpersonal side of things, such as people management, maintaining client relationships and marketing. However, I am mostly involved in corporate and structural development,” he says. Invigor's success is certainly remarkable, as the company has landed large projects with a reduced number of staff members of currently 18 people. The quality-over-quantity motto seems to be working well for the Hungarian firm.

“Client satisfaction is very important in such complex environments,” affirms Mr. Vadnai, whose three-fold approach to business is based on stability, accuracy and cooperation.

“I want continuous expansion and annual growth rates of 10 to 25%. We can achieve that by extending our client portfolio to the Hungarian industry sector.”

But maintaining a leading position in this rapidly changing industry is not without its challenges. “There is a shortage of skilled workers. We have high expectations, and although the training provided by universities is good, specialization is lacking,” says Mr. Vadnai.

Nevertheless, the company has a positive outlook on its future and expects to focus its marketing and expansion efforts on the Hungarian market, mostly developing a complex X86 server-based solution with extreme performance and high availability. The company also has experience with HP Matrix CloudSystem and offers much better utilization of hardware infrastructure.“I want continuous expansion and annual growth rates of 10 to 25%.
