“In Europe and the USA, our market share doubled in 2011,” explains Hubert Trunkenpolz, chief sales officer at KTM. “Our company offers an excellent product portfolio with its own unmistakeable design. At the present time, we specialise in the development and production of competitive off-road and street motorcycles as well as quad bikes. Especially the Enduro and offroad sector has always been one of our mainstays and still guarantees for our leading market position in many countries around the world.”
KTM and its 1,520 employees will celebrate the company’s 60th anniversary in 2012. “In this very special year, we plan to exceed our last turnover of 527 million EUR and reach 600 million,” states the chief sales officer. “With export rates of 97%, mainly due to core markets in Europe and North America, we aim at being Europe’s biggest motorcycle manufacturer.”
In this regard, KTM applies several means of marketing to gain access to its target groups from the end-customer segment. “Social media aspects especialy play an important role,” says Mr. Trunkenpolz. “Apart from that, we are present at several trade fairs, for example at the Intermot in Cologne, and maintain our distribution via 1,200 dealers worldwide.”
Needless to say, these promising structures make for a successful future. “In the past, we always identified distinct trends,” summarises the chief sales officer. “Bearing this in mind, we are ready to face a highly competitive market.”
